Local company celebrates quarter of a
century with £3million orders.
CIVIL engineering and ground works company FG Construction
has celebrated its 25th birthday in the same week as taking £3million in new
orders.
The new business provided a double celebration for the
Nottingham based firm which has seen its base in Lilac Grove, Beeston grow from
a two-man company to the multi million pound concern it is today,
employing over 170 people.
"What better way to celebrate such an important milestone in
our history than by winning this latest work," said Joint Managing Director John
Garvin, who co-founded the company with Con Fitzsimmons in 1977.
FG Construction has built up a reputable portfolio of
clients and project work as its operation has grown. It is now responsible for a
vast majority of roads, sewers and general housing schemes across
Nottinghamshire and the six surrounding counties.
It undertakes work for the major housebuilders including
projects from some of the smallest bespoke developments through to major 300
home schemes.
Con Fitzsimmons added "It is down to
the hard work, commitment and loyalty of our workforce that we continue to be a
preferred choice for many of the leading housebuilding names in this part of the
UK.
John Garvin added "our ability to adapt to the changing
marketplace and needs of our customers means we have a very positive outlook for
the future and a solid base for the further development of the business within
the forthcoming years".
We can celebrate
our 25th year in the knowledge that our business is flourishing and continuing
to grow from strength to strength, our grateful thanks must go to every employee
within F G Construction who have all played their part in helping us get to this
position we are in today.
From its humble beginnings back in 1977, F G Construction
now employ 20 staff at its Lilac Grove base and a further 150 in the
field.
